Finding Text
You can find a text string in the active window as follows.
Note If you are finding text in an HTML file, the Edit > Find command opens a Find dialog box with options similar to those described below. If you are finding information in a schematic, see Finding Instances and Nets.
To Find Text in a File
  1.  Select Edit > Find, or click the Find toolbar button Image.
  2.  In the Find toolbar that appears at the bottom of the Workspace, type the text to search for in the Find box.
Note Alternatively, you can select text from the Find box drop-down list.
  3.  To set the following options in the Find Options dialog box, click the Options button Image:
    •  Match Case - Finds text strings with the uppercase and lowercase letters you specify.
    •  Match Word - Finds text strings that are whole words, not portions of words.
    •  Match Type - Specifies whether to search using a Literal match, which matches text exactly, or using a Regular Expression match, which matches text patterns as described in Using Wildcards. For detailed information on regular expressions, see Regular Expressions.
Note The Match Type options are only available when using the ISE Text Editor.
  4.  To continue searching, select one of the following:
    •  Edit > Find Next, or click the Next button Image.
