Non-Return to Zero (NRZ) SignalingXilinx 10 Gbps technology is based on Non-Return to Zero (NRZ) signaling as opposed to new proprietary niche concepts, such as Pulse-Amplitude Modulation (PAM). NRZ is the industry's preferred solutions as it is the signaling technology used in all the common existing and emerging serial standards including SONET, 1Gb and 10 Gb Ethernet, Fibre Channel, PCI Express™, Serial RapidIO, InfiniBand, Serial ATA and others. Xilinx has chosen to employ NRZ signaling because it provides broad compatibility with all these common serial I/O standards. Customers require compatibility and scalability within these I/O standards to save cost and development time. Xilinx 10 Gbps technology will enable future products to satisfy our customer's system requirements up to 10 Gbps. |
