The Xilinx University Program (XUP) enables academics to introduce and use Xilinx technologies in their curriculum and research. XUP collaborates with application expert academics to develop and deliver top-quality teaching materials. XUP also develops in-house workshop materials, teaching users how to use the tools and technologies in the most efficient ways. These workshop materials are accessible to academics to use in classes in their original forms and/or extend with additional material. XUP also gets actively involved in research projects where Xilinx FPGA technologies are utilized.

Professor Benefits
Explore the advanced features of Xilinx FPGAs in the classroom
  • FPGAs are ideal for teaching, projects and research across a whole range of disciplines
  • They are the only reprogrammable, digital platforms which combine:
    • Logic design
    • Micro-processing and computer architecture
    • Digital Signal Processing (DSP)
    • Multi-Gbps communications
  • FPGAs reinforce fundamental principles with practical skills that are important to industry
  • FPGAs provide flexibility which allows new concepts to be quickly verified
Gain access to valuable XUP support services
  • Xilinx design software
  • Xilinx Intellectual Property (IP) cores
  • FPGA development systems
  • Professor workshops
  • Teaching material
  • Online technical support

Academic Partners Material

The lab materials developed by IMEC were created to offer a complete solution for teaching lab-based courses in digital logic and embedded systems using Xilinx technology. The materials include hands-on lab exercises that enable students to gain practical experience with Xilinx logic and embedded design tools.

Access courseware targeting Spartan®-3E based Digital Electronics (DE ) FPGA Board. The courseware provides laboratory exercises using NI LabView and Xilinx ISE design tools.

The following workshops are available through the XUP program

XUP workshops involve on-site presentation combined with hands-on lab exercises and are taught by subject matter experts. In some workshops, instruction is also given by professors who have experience with Xilinx products in their own course work in areas such as introductory and upper-level digital logic design, processor architecture, digital signal processing, VLSI design, data communications, reconfigurable logic, and various advanced-level projects.

All workshop materials are in English unless otherwise specified. Workshop presentation and instruction may be offered in local language when appropriate and when a qualified instructor is available.
