In the last five years, there has been unprecedented traction for FPGAs to accelerate a wide range of enterprise and research applications in areas as diverse as genomics, AI inference, large-scale business analytics, in-house EDA, and video transcoding, among others. At the same time, there have been shifts in FPGA accessibility, device diversification, and performance/memory/efficiency improvements, along with significant advances in ease of programming.
The Next Platform has been tracking momentum with FPGAs over the last several years with a particular emphasis on the role programmable devices will continue to play in application acceleration as well as in computational storage and modern data center networks. Xilinx has been at the forefront of much of this upward trend and we encourage you to spend a day with Xilinx execs and experts, as well as many other FPGA experts from both industry and end-user sides, as part of the inaugural The Next FPGA Platform event, taking place January 22 at The GlassHouse in downtown San Jose.
The Next FPGA Platform event will gather many of the preeminent leaders in FPGAs on the application acceleration side for an extended day of discussions and interactive Q&A. The PowerPoint-free format will feature live on-stage technical interviews and topical panels with FPGA technologists on the end-user, developer, and creator sides, moderated by The Next Platform team and select guest interviewers.
Xilinx will have a strong presence at the event and will have executive speakers participating in multiple on-stage interviews and panel discussions throughout, including the opening keynote by our CTO, Ivo Bolsens.
The Next Platform interviewed Ivo for a pre-event article titled, “The Inevitability of FPGAs in the Datacenter” to provide a preview of what is top of mind for his keynote.
Among the day’s proceedings, be sure to attend the following sessions:
4:30 – 4:50 – “FPGAs as a Pervasive Presence in the Datacenter: A Look at Storage/Network Opportunities,” a panel session with Donna Yasay, vice president of Data Center Marketing at Xilinx, and experts from Eideticom, Intel, NGD Systems and Titan-IC. Watch the video: https://bit.ly/2twf3dx
4:50 – 5:15 – “Market Insights/Futures,” a panel including Kirk Saban, vice president of Product and Platform Marketing at Xilinx, with speakers from Gidel and Intel.
