System Generator for DSP - When System Generator calls up CORE Generator, it fails with errors (Windows98).

Description

Keywords: SysGen, Mathworks, Simulink, Core Generator, Coregen, path length

Urgency: Standard

General Description:
I am running the System Generator v1.0 "Generate" on Windows98. When I
call up CORE Generator, it fails with miscellaneous errors. What is going wrong?

Solution

When the System Generator calls the CORE Generator with a path name that is too
long, the DOS call from System Generator to CORE Generator truncates the path.
(This may or may not happen, depending upon where the user's target directory is,
where the user has CORE Generator installed, etc.) If the you have this problem,
you will see your Windows98 machine fail early in the CORE Generator call, after
System Generator creates VHDL.

A workaround is to choose a target directory with a short path name.
