4.1i CORE Generator - "ERROR: updateFileTimeStamp: Cannot delete original file..." (On a PC)

Description

Keywords: CORE Generator, COREGen, LogiCORE, timestamp, XCO, secured, licensed

Urgency: Standard

General Description:
Using a PC, I am generating a core that requires fee (such as Reed-Solomon and Viterbi cores), and the following error is reported at the end of core generation:

Successfully generated example (<Core> netlist 2.0)
ERROR: updateFileTimeStamp: Cannot delete original file.
WARNING: SimElaborator: Unable to change timestamp on edif output file. XCO file will have a more recent timestamp.

Solution

You can safely ignore this error.

This error is generated towards the end of core generation, during the time stamping of the generated EDIF file. You may get an EDIF netlist with an older time stamp than the .xco file, but this will not cause any problems during the implementation; all the files you need should be generated.

This unnecessary error message will be corrected in 4.1i IP Update #1.
