ModelSim (EE, SE) - I cannot delete the MODELSIM_TCL Environment Variable (Windows NT).

Keywords: variable, NT, MODELSIM_TCL, delete

Urgency: Standard

General Description:
When I compile the Xilinx simulation models in ModelSim PE using the TCL script, I cannot delete the MODELSIM_TCL variable. Once deleted, it reappears, launching the TCL GUI when ModelSim is loaded.

How do I delete it?

This occurs because of a problem with the way Windows NT updates the environment variables.

To stop the TCL script from being executed, delete the value of the variable and set it.

If the variable needs to be removed, deleting the variable from the entry will also solve the issue:

1. Run "regedit".

2. Browse to the HKEY_CURRENT_USER/environment entry.

3. Delete the unwanted variable.
