4.1i CORE Generator - "ERROR: Could not find xilinxcorelib.corename_Vx_x" is reported when I simulate a design with XC4000/Spartan cores

Description

Keywords: synchronous, FIFO, simulation, model, fifosyncVHT, behavioral

Urgency: Standard

General Description:
When I generate an XC4000/Spartan core, the VHDL wrapper file that is generated points to the incorrect XilinxCoreLib simulation model. When I run a simulation using a COREGen-generated pipeline multiplier, the following error messages are reported:

"# ERROR: Could not find xilinxcorelib.dividervht_v2_0
# ERROR: D:/xactdata/nasu_suzuki/20011128/div_top_error.vhd(61): cannot find expanded name: xilinxcorelib.dividervht_v2_0
# ERROR: D:/xactdata/nasu_suzuki/20011128/div_top_error.vhd(63): xilinxcorelib is not an entity.
# ERROR: D:/xactdata/nasu_suzuki/20011128/div_top_error.vhd(69): Error in configuration specification. Expected entity aspect.
# ERROR: D:/xactdata/nasu_suzuki/20011128/div_top_error.vhd(79): VHDL Compiler exiting."

The affected cores are:

- COMB_FILTER 1.0
- INTEGRATOR 1.0
- NON-PIPELINED_CONSTANT_COEFICIENT_MULTIPLIER1.0
- PARALELL_MULTIPLIER_-_AREA_OPTIMIZED1.0
- PARALELL_TO_SERIAL_CONVERTER1.0
- PIPELINED_CONSTANT_COEFICIENT_MULTIPLIER1.0
- PIPELINED_DIVIDER2.0
- REGISTER1.0
- REGISTERED_ADDER1.0
- SYNCHRONOUS FIFO 1.0

Within the VHDL wrapper file, the configuration statement will incorrectly contain:
... use entity XilinxCoreLib.sync_fifo_v1_0(behavioral)

when it should contain:
... use entity XilinxCoreLib.fifosyncVHT(behavioral)

Solution

This problem is fixed in a tactical patch (EIP1_TP1) that is available for E_IP1. The patch file is available from the 4.1i IP Updates page of the IP Center (http://www.xilinx.com/ipcenter/coregen/member/updates.htm).

For details and instructions on installing this patch, please see (Xilinx Answer 13200).
