General Description: When I add certain non-Xilinx device BSDL files to a JTAG Chain, iMPACT reports the following errors:
"EXCEPTION:iMPACT:BsdlStorage.c:686:22.214.171.124 - Out of range."
"FATAL_ERROR:GuiUtilities:WinApp.c:560:$Revsion - This application has discovered an exceptional condition from which it cannot recover.Process will terminate. To resolve this error, please consult the Answers Database and other online resources at http://support.xilinx.com"
This problem will be fixed in the next major software release.
To work around this issue, do not specify a BSDL or bit file for the device; instead, specify an arbitrary device name and the instruction register (IR) length.
The IR length can be found on the following line in the non-Xilinx BSDL file:
attribute INSTRUCTION_LENGTH of [device name] : entity is [length];
