4.2i MAP - The packer does not push inversions into CEMUX if the "XBLKNM" property is used

Description

Keywords: inverter, buffer, clock enable, CE, push, XBLKNM, timing

Urgency: Standard

General Description:
A problem introduced in software version 4.2i affects the packers' ability to push buffers and inversions forward into the CEMUX (clock-enable mux) when "XBLKNM" properties are involved.

The "XBLKNM" property is intended to restrict packing to symbols that have been assigned the same XBLKNM values; previously, however, buffers and inverters were exempt from this restriction.

This problem adversely affects the timing of clock-enable signals.

Solution

This problem is fixed in the latest 4.2i Service Pack, available at:
http://support.xilinx.com/support/techsup/sw_updates
The first service pack containing the fix is 4.2i Service Pack 3.
