AR# 14315: 4.2i ISE - Project Navigator picks up a previous version of Exemplar LeonardoSpectrum
4.2i ISE - Project Navigator picks up a previous version of Exemplar LeonardoSpectrum
Keywords: 4.2, ISE, Project, Navigator, previous, version, Leonardo, Spectrum, Exemplar
General Description: I am attempting to synthesize a project in ISE 4.2i with LeonardoSpectrum using a machine that has more than one version of LeonardoSpectrum installed. Project Navigator will always use the previously installed version, no matter what the EXEMPLAR environment variable setting and regardless of whether or not the MGS_LOC_OVERWRITE environment variable is set. If I edit the registry settings for the Project Navigator to point to the new version of LeonardoSpectrum, the old version is used and the registry settings point to the previous version.
One way to work around this problem is to use LeonardoSpectrum in stand-alone mode, then import the EDIF into the ISE environment.
Another way to work around the problem is to rename the path of the new LeonardoSpectrum version to the old path; then, give the old LeonardoSpectrum path a new name. Because ISE always looks in the same directory, this will force the software to start the new version.
