General Description:
If a signal in Verilog has already been declared as a particular data type and is subsequently redeclared as a different data type, XST issues the following error message:

"ERROR:Xst:951 - file_name.v Line xx. Redeclaration of 'sig' as a scalar is incompatible with previous declaration."

Solution

Check your design code to determine which signal declaration is correct, and delete the other signal declaration.
