General Description: Errors occur after I change the startup options for the Start-up Clock to CCLK from within the 4.2i ISE GUI and launch 4.2i iMPACT from ISE. As iMPACT starts up in boundary scan mode by default, a warning indicates that the wrong Start-up clock is selected.
I then change from boundary scan mode to the correct slave serial mode, add the device, and select the bit file; however, the errors below are then reported:
"FATAL_ERROR:GuiUtilities:WinApp.c:570: This application has discovered an exception condition from which it cannot recover."
"The instruction at '0x6C281351' referenced memory at '0x00000004'. The memory cannot be 'read'."
This problem will be fixed in the 5.1i software, which is scheduled to be released in September, 2002.
Meanwhile, work around the program by manually changing the default configuration mode in the ISE GUI before launching iMPACT as follows:
- Go to the "Processes for Current Sources" window.
- Under "Generate Programming File", right-click on "Configure Device (iMPACT)" and select "Properties..."
- In the "iMPACT Programming Tool Properties" dialogue box, change the configuration mode to "Slave Serial" (or "SelectMAP").
