5.1i CORE Generator - Can the Memory Editor process negative numbers?

Keywords: COE, .coe, distributed, ROM, COREGen

Urgency: Standard

General Description:
The CORE Generator Memory Editor is unable to process negative numbers; if I specify negative numbers in the Memory Editor, the numbers are written to the .COE file incorrectly.

For example, I have a 16-bit wide memory and specify the decimal number -128. The entry is written out to the COE as the following binary value:

This is obviously not a valid binary value, and the COE file is not usable.

To avoid this problem, use binary or hexadecimal format when entering the values.
