6.1i ECS - "WARNING:DesignEntry:75 - Annotation at (-80 -80) is outside the sheet..."

Description

Keywords: ECS, 5.1i, Project, Navigator, warning, 75, design, entry, sheet, boundary

Urgency: Standard.

General Description:
I am migrating a design from the 4.2i software to version 5.1i (or above). When I compile the schematic design, the following warning appears:

"Release 5.1.02i - sch2vhdl F.25
Copyright (c) 1995-2002 Xilinx, Inc. All rights reserved.
WARNING:DesignEntry:75 - Annotation at (-80 -80) is outside the sheet boundary
Error:

Completed process "View VHDL Functional Model"."

This warning also appears in the schematic editor, as the "Check Schematic" process is performed.

Solution

The reported point (in the example above, (-80,-80)) is outside the sheet boundary. If you zoom out, you will be able to view the sheet boundary.

NOTE: The information inside the sheet boundary contains all positive points (> 0, > 0).

You can solve this problem by following these steps:

1. Open the "*.sch" file in a text editor.
2. Look for the indicated point and change or delete it.
3. Save the "*.sch" file and run the compilation again.

This process is illustrated below:

By changing the point "-80" to a positive point, you will solve this problem.

Example of original code:

BEGIN SHEET 1 7609 5382
ATTR LengthUnitName "CM"
ATTR GridsPerUnit "4"
ARC N -80 -80 -80 -80 4528 1344 4336 1000
INSTANCE XLXI_93 2560 2416 R0
INSTANCE XLXI_98 2192 2000 R0

Example of corrected code:

BEGIN SHEET 1 7609 5382
ATTR LengthUnitName "CM"
ATTR GridsPerUnit "4"
ARC N 1344 1344 1344 1344 4528 1344 4336 1000
INSTANCE XLXI_93 2560 2416 R0
