6.1i PACE - AREA GROUPs from my UCF do not appear in PACE when I attempt to assign a RANGE to them

Description

Keywords: PACE, AREA_GROUP, RANGE, UCF, TIMEGRP

Urgency: Standard

General Description:
I create the following Time Group-based Area Group in my UCF, using the syntax from the Constraints Guide:

TIMEGRP timing_group_name AREA_GROUP = area_group_name;

However, when I open PACE to assign a RANGE to my new area_group_name, it does not appear.

Solution

A current PACE limitation prevents it from reading in AREA_GROUPs that are created by a TIMEGRP, or that do not have RANGE already associated with them.

This problem has been fixed in the latest 6.1i Service Pack, available at:
http://support.xilinx.com/support/techsup/sw_updates
The first service pack containing the fix is 6.1i Service Pack 1.
