10.1 PrimeTime - Why is there a difference in the slack calculated by TRCE and PrimeTime for OFFSET IN Analysis?

Description

Why is there a difference in the slack calculated by TRCE and PrimeTime for OFFSET IN constraint for the destination register when the port drives both source and destination registers?

Solution

The difference is due to the way TRCE and PrimeTime calculated the clock path delay. TRCE uses relative min delay for the clock path, but PrimeTime uses max delay for the clock path. Therefore, the slack results are going to be different for the OFFSET IN analysis.
