XtremeDSP Development Kit - What is the performance difference between using the C/C++ API, and using DIMEscript to communicate with the XtremeDSP Development Kit?

Description

General Description:

What is the performance difference between using the C/C++ API, and using DIMEscript to communicate with the XtremeDSP Development Kit?

Solution

Theoretically, you should not see any performance decrease between the two, however, the C/C++ API functions allow you much tighter control over communication between the host and the card for locking down memory before transfers.

Also, the C/C++ API is better supported and many additions and upgrades are written for it and then filtered down into DIMEscript later. For future designs, Xilinx recommends using the C/C++ API since DIMEscript is being phased out over the next 12 to 18 months and will be replaced by a TCL equivalent.
