Description

Keywords: Bristol, Wind/U, windu, RH4, Redhat, xtperdisplay

For Red Hat Enterprise 4.0 64-bit, some ISE applications do not launch, showing the following messages on the command prompt:

"<$Xilinx>/bin/lin64/<app>: Symbol `_XtperDisplayList' causes overflow in R_X86_64_PC32 relocation
<$Xilinx>/bin/lin64/<app>: Symbol `_XtGetPerDisplayInput' causes overflow in R_X86_64_PC32 relocation"

This is a window manager issue related to X11R6 libraries found on the machine. The following applications are known to be affected:

FPGA Editor
Floorplanner
Timing Analyzer
Constraints Editor

Solution

ISE 10.1 and later:
To resolve this issue, you must add the following path to the end of your $LD_LIBRARY_PATH:$XILINX/X11R6/lib/lin64

ISE 9.2i:
To resolve this issue, you must add the following path to the end of your $LD_LIBRARY_PATH:$XILINX/X11R6/bin/lin64
