7.1i XST - Which of the two @* and @(*) Verilog 2001 sensitivity expressions should I use?

Description

Keywords: Synplify, precision, @*, @(*)

Which of the two @* @(*) Verilog 2001 sensitivity expressions should I use ?

Example:
always @(*)
b = a | c ;

Solution

The Verilog language considers (* as the beginning of a comment, and that is why it is best to use @* to avoid any accidental typos.

The example should be re-written as:

always @*
b = a | c;

This issue has been fixed in ISE 9.1i.
