MPMC2 - How to execute PPC code from PLB_BRAM

Description

The OCM BRAM is used to boot from in the examples provided with the MPMC2. Is it possible to use PLB BRAM to boot from instead? Is there a way to get around this or do I have to use the OCM BRAM?

Solution

There is no technical limitation to booting from the PLB_BRAM, however, only the DSPLB PIM's can bridge to other PLB/OPB ports. (see DSPLB Bridging Functionality in UG253).

To achieve booting, you must use a DSPLB instead of a ISPLB on the IPLB bus of the PPC.

Note that there is a limitation of only two DSPLB's per MPMC instance.
