9.2.01i iMPACT - PROM file generation for SPI devices produces errors for the TEK, EXO, and BIN formats

When I generate a PROM file for an SPI device using the PROM File Formatter flow in iMPACT, the following errors occur:

For the TEK format:

"ERROR:iMPACT:1346 - Selected prom size exceeds the maximum size of 64k Bytes for TEK PROM file format."

For the EXO format:

"ERROR:iMPACT:1345 - Selected prom size exceeds the maximum size of 16384k Bytes for EXO PROM file format."

For the BIN format:

"ERROR:iMPACT:1822 - File format bin is not allowed in Parallel mode."

Following are ways to work around these problems:

To generate a .BIN file format

Generate the BIN file with the PROMGen from the command line. The following example is shown for 8 MB SPI PROM (Total no. of bits = 8 MB = 1024 x 8 x8 = 65536 bits)

promgen -w -p bin -c FF -o Output_binfile.bin -u 0 input_bitstream.bit -s 65536 -spi

To generate an .EXO file

Generate the .EXO format using GUI wizard with a defined PROM size. Using the Auto Select PROM check box in the iMPACT GUI will result in errors. PROMGen can also be used from the command line but supports only the 1024 PROM size.

promgen -w -p exo -c FF -o Output_binfile.exo -u 0 input_bitstream.bit -s 1024 -spi

To Generate a .TEK file

Revert to iMPACT 9.1.03.
