ChipScope Pro - ERROR:PhysDesignRules:798 - The network has an antenna. Routing is incomplete.

Description

When running a project that has ChipScope cores in it, the following error message occurs:

ERROR:PhysDesignRules:798 - The network <xx> has an antenna. Routing is incomplete.

Solution

Check to see if there are any probes between DCM/PLL outputs and BUFGs. If so, move these to BUFG outputs. Below is an example:

DCM_BASE_inst (

.CLK0 (CLK), // 0 degree DCM CLK output

...

.CLKFB (CLK_bufout) // DCM clock feedback

);

BUFG CLK_BUFG_INST (

.I (CLK),

.O (CLK_bufout));

To work around the problem, move the probe from CLK to CLK_bufout.
