10.1 iMPACT - JTAG Tap states are incorrect in Debug Scan Chain GUI

Description

A Scan DR execution leaves the TAP in Exit1-DR. However, iMPACT displays the TAP in the Run-Test/Idle state. The issue is that the scanned data is not yet updated (via the Update-DR) state into the device's update register, but iMPACT indicates that the data is already updated. How can I work around this issue?

Solution

To complete the above scan and move the TAP into the Update-DR state and on to the Run-Test/Idle state, clear the Scan DR values. Then, use manually assert TMS for 5 TCK cycles to return to Run-Test/Idle. This issue will be resolved in a future release of iMPACT.
