The ISE 10.1 Architecture Wizard for clocking gives an error message if you enter invalid characters, including Japanese characters. Here is the error message:
"Error: A filename can not contain any of the following characters: / : * ? " < > | ;
FATAL_ERROR: DesignEntry:Portability/export/Port_Main:h:159:$Revision: 1.11 $ - This application has discovered an exceptional condition from which it cannot recover. Process will terminate."
This Fatal Error affects all Spartan and Virtex architectures that can be targeted by the Architecture Wizard in the ISE 10.1 design tools.
This issue is not scheduled to be fixed in the current or future software versions. To work around the issue, do not use invalid characters in the GUI. If you have any further questions on this issue, please open a WebCase with Xilinx Technical Support at: http://www.xilinx.com/support
