Are the same speed files used for commercial and non-commercial devices?

Solution

In the majority of circumstances the same speed files and speed grades are used for non-commercial devices. The only difference is the temperature range at which the devices were qualified under. The industrial device uses the same speed file as the commercial device.

However, there are some cases where the characterization of the non-commercial devices highlights devices that are not matching the commercial temperature range speed files. This requires the need to create a specific speed file for that temperature range device, which is the case for military devices. The reason for the difference in the values is due to the use of different speed files.

It is recommended that you target the appropriate device when implementing your design.
