To obtain a license, I launched the Xilinx License Configuration Manager (XLCM) and chose "Get My Purchased License(s) -> Next -> Connect Now". On the Entitlement Web site, I logged in and selected ISE Design Suite: Logic License. When I click "Generate Node-Locked License", the host information has already been added; however, the Host OS type is incorrect or missing. Windows 64-bit systems are reported as Windows 32-bit systems, and Linux Systems have no OS information.
When generating a license, the Host Name and Host ID values are the most important entries since they are used by the Software to determine if the license is valid on the user's system. Other values are for tracking and Web site statistics. As long as Host Name and Host ID match the machine, the license will work.
In some cases, having the correct OS type can be required in order to enter the correct Host ID value.
Users generating licenses for Linux, Solaris, and Windows 64-bit systems can add a new Host to generate a license. This can be done as follows:
After performing the above, you will be able to generate a license for your computer.
This issue has been resolved in ISE Design Suite 11.2.
