LogiCORE IP Video On Screen Display (OSD) v1.0 - Why does text zoomed to 2x, 4x, or 8x display incorrectly?

Description

Why does text zoomed to 2x, 4x, or 8x display incorrectly?

Solution

This is due to a problem in the core that is scheduled to be fixed in a future release.

This problem has been fixed in the Video On Screen Display 1.0 rev2 patch.

To obtain the patch, see (Xilinx Answer 35635)

To work around this issue, set the Horizontal Start Pixel to a multiple of 8.

The Vertical Start Pixel does not affect this issue.

This issue only affects text with a zoom of 2x, 4x, or 8x, but does not affect a zoom of 1x.
