This Answer Record contains the Release Notes for the CORE Generator 3GPP LTE Turbo Encoder v3.0 rev 1 Patch which deals with the inability to target the core at Virtex-6 or Spartan-6.
During synthesis, XST now checks that the generated core meets the IEEE VHDL Standard and is LRM (Language Reference Manual) compliant. As a result of these checks since ISE 11.3 the core will not generate for Virtex-6 or Spartan-6 families
In order to target Virtex-6 and Spartan-6, you need to install the patch described below:
1. Before you install this patch, ensure that you have the following installed on your machine.
NOTE: If you need any of the service packs, libraries, or IP Updates, you can obtain them from the Download Center at:
- ISE 11.3i
2. Download the 3GPP LTE Turbo Encoder v3.0 patch from:
3. Extract the ar33617_3gpp_lte_turbo_encoder_v3_0_rev1.zip to a temporary directory so as to read the AR33617_3GPP_LTE_Turbo_Encoder_V3_0_REV1_readme.txt file for more information on whether to extract the zip file to %XILINX% installation directory or use MYXILINX environmental variable.
Issue: The core cannot be generated for either Virtex-6 or Spartan-6 using ISE 11.3.
Symptom: When generating the core, the error message "ERROR:coreutil - XST has returned an error: ERROR:HDLCompiler:432"? appears and the core is not created.
