LogiCORE IP Video On Screen Display (OSD) v1.0 - Why are the outputs rotated left by 8-bits when using the OSD in 3 Channel Mode?

Description

Why are the outputs rotated left by 8-bits when using the OSD in 3 Channel Mode?

Solution

This is a known problem that only affects the 3 channel mode and is addressed in the next release of the Video On Screen Display IP.

You can work around this problem by mapping to the correct channel on the output.
  • chan1 = [7:0]
  • chan2 = [15:8]
  • chan0 = [23:16]

This problem has also been fixed in the Video On Screen Display 1.0 rev3 patch. See (Xilinx Answer 35635) to obtain the patch.

Please see (Xilinx Answer 33257) for a detailed list of LogiCORE IP Video On Screen Display Release Notes and Known Issues.
