In ISE Design Suite 12.4, there was a directory called AXI_BFM which contained the BFM examples, documentation, encrypted models, and decryption software libraries. However, the AXI_BFM directory does not exist in ISE Design Suite 13.1 and later.
Where can I find these files?
The AXI BFM encrypted models and associated support libraries are now part of the main ISE software install and are made available when running the associated Xilinx Command Prompt in the Windows or settings.(c)sh files in Linux.
The AXI BFM documentation and example files have been moved to www.xilinx.com, and can be accessed by navigating to the User Guides/Manuals section of the Design Tools documentation for that release.
For ISE Design Suite 13.1, see: http://www.xilinx.com/support/documentation/dt_ise13-1.htm
A copy of the encrypted models and support libraries still exists in the example design package to allow the BFM examples to be used in a standalone manner.
Starting in the 13.1 software, the Compxlib library compilation tool now compiles the AXI BFM models into the secureip simulation library. It is no longer necessary to compile the AXI BFM models explicitly in user scripts, nor specify a -pli option to the ModelSim vsim command.
Note: In 13.1, the AXI BFM models work only with Cadence NCSIM and ModelSim simulators.
