The DxDesigner source files provided for the Xilinx Development Board that I am using do not include the DxDesigner project file.
How do I create a DxDesigner project file for my Xilinx Development Board?
The project file is not necessary to open the source files in DxDesigner 2005.1; the board files can be opened and used by a customer using the DxDesigner Dashboard and the provided source files.
If customers are familiar with a project file, this can be created by following the steps below:
The Dashboard should be used. When a project is opened in Dashboard, and it does not have an associated project file, the Dashboard automatically creates a project file that is named after the project directory.
When you double-click on a schematic file (i.e., in the project directory, or any other file) the Dashboard tries to change the active project to that project. Any project open at that point will be closed, and might not be saved before doing so. It is recommended to always work within the Dashboard and know which project is currently active.
