LogiCORE IP Video Scaler v4.0 - Why is the Video Scaler constant mode GUI estimated frame rate slower than expected?

Description

In the Video Scaler constant mode GUI, why is the estimated frame rate slower than expected?

Solution

This is a known issue with the Video Scaler v4.0 GUI that will be fixed in the Video Scaler v5.0 GUI in the 13.3 release.

 To work around this problem and establish the max frame-rate follow the steps below:

  1. Set the core Interface Selection to "General Purpose Processor" mode.
     
  2. Enter the frame dimensions into the "Maximum Frame Dimensions" fields on the Video Scaler GUI, page 1.
     
  3. Observe the Maximum achievable frame rate in the information tab on the left.
     
  4. Return the core Interface Selection to Constant mode, enter your desired values in page 2 of the Video Scaler GUI and ignore the max frame rate that is reported.
