AutoESL 2011.x: SystemC simulation errors/crashes/fails unexpectedly

Description

What are the possible causes for SystemC simulation crashes, especially if large inputs are used?

Solution

The problem is an internal crash during the internal simulation.

1- In general, the use of globals as I/O ports is not supported during the Autosim stage of AutoESL. This will be fixed in the next release.

2- For large image sizes, the recommendation is to not use Autosim at all as it runs at the same speed as an RTL simulation.

For verification of video designs, it is recommended that you either place the RTL on a board or use your system level RTL simulation.

3 -For issues with arrays on the top level:

Autosim currently does not support array mapping on top function parameters.

However, array partitioning is supported.
