Each IP delivered through the Vivado IP catalog has a unique VLNV used by the software to identify the IP.
Any user packaging their own IP with the IP Packager, will be asked for a VLNV to identify the IP. If the IP is ever updated, the newly packaged IP should be given a new VLNV as well, in order to differentiate it from previous versions of the IP that may exist in user IP repositories.
