The IEEE 802.3 specification states that the maximum size of a non-jumbo packet should be 1518 bytes.
With VLAN tagging, this maximum size is raised to 1522 bytes.
When the Receive 1536-Byte Frames bit is set, gem.NET_CFG[8] = 1, the controller allows up to 1536 bytes in the packet to be received when the controller should only allow up to 1522 bytes.
Impact: | Trivial. Some packets will be accepted that are larger than 1522 bytes. |
Work-around: | None. |
Configurations Affected: | Systems that use the GigE controller and want to define the packet size using the Receive 1536-Byte Frames bit.. |
Device Revision(s) Affected: | All. No plan to fix. Refer to (Xilinx Answer 47916) Zynq-7000 SoC Silicon Revision Differences Answer Record. |
