AR# 52723: 2013.x / 14.x Licensing - XLCM does not handle paths with Simplified Chinese characters
2013.x / 14.x Licensing - XLCM does not handle paths with Simplified Chinese characters
I have opened the Xilinx License Configuration Manager (XLCM) and I am unable to set the XILINXD_LICENSE_FILE or LM_LICENSE_FILE variable to a path that contains simplified Chinese characters.
If XLCM is used to set either of the license paths to a path containing simplified Chinese characters, these characters are replaced with question marks (???) or characters in the environment settings.
This issue is scheduled to be resolved in the new licensing manager for Vivado 2014.1 tools.
When using XLCM in ISE Design Suite and Vivado 2013.x and earlier tools, you should copy the license file to a directory containing only ASCII (non-Unicode) characters.
