Design Advisory for MIG 7 Series QDRII+ - Inferred latches cause write calibration failures. Work-around required.

The MIG 7 Series QDRII+ design incorrectly infers latches within the calibration RTL.The latches can cause the calibration state machine to incorrectly jump tothe write calibration stage prematurely. This causes calibration to fail during the write calibration stage.

Solution

To work around this issue,RTL updates to remove the inferred latches are needed. The patch located at the bottom of this answer record includesa drop-in replacement "qdr_phy_write_init_sm.v" module for both theMIG 7 Series v1.7 and v1.8designs.Installation instructions for the patch are also included in the patch zip file.
