When trying to run Vivado Synthesis 2013.2, I get the following error:
[Common 17-70] Application Exception: File not found: ../my_project/my_project.runs/.jobs/job1.sh
This file actually does exist in this directory, but Vivado IDE cannot find it.
error has been seen in some cases where the project is located on a network drive.
file seems to be created just after the error is issued.
It is possible that the network is not creating the file fast enough, and as a result the file does not exist yet when the tool needs to use it.
A possible work-around is to use the following steps:
In the TCL console, type the command launch_runs synth_1 scripts_only You can adapt this for any run that you are doing.
The following message (or similar) should appear:
"INFO: [Runs 36-48] Run(s) initialized and can be manually started with the following script: path/to/project/project.runs/.jobs/job1.sh"
Type the path given in the message into the TCL console directly: path/to/project/project.runs/.jobs/job1.sh
You should get an Unknown Tcl command warning, however you should also see a dialog box indicating it is running. You can move this dialog box to the background and look at the log tab to confirm that it is actively running in the GUI.
The job scripts are no longer created for runs in Vivado 2013.3.
Therefore this type of race condition should be eliminated.
