Tri Mode Ethernet MAC v7.0 (Rev1) - Downloadable Rev1 patch update

This tactical update addresses the following issues:

1) For a VHDL project, the ipif_pkg has had its package name corrected to include the Component Name as a prefix. This will prevent package name conflicts between multiple cores in a single design; see (Xilinx Answer 57377).
2) For a Verilog project using the configuration_vector, fixed an HDL syntax error in the block level wrapper on a component instantiation and added associated missing XDC constraint syntax; see (Xilinx Answer 56625).
3) For MII, when using the AXI4-Lite management interface but without Statistics, four unnecessary lines of XDC syntax have been removed from a core constraint file. These four lines previously caused critical warnings (which could be safely ignored); see (Xilinx Answer 57440).

This Tactical Patch is compatible to Vivado 2013.2.

It will no longer be needed as of Vivado 2013.3.

Patch Content:

The attached (ar57446_Vivado_2013_2_tri_mode_eth_mac_v7_0_Rev_1_preliminary_patchrev1.zip) file contains the:

  • Tri Mode Ethernet MAC v7.0(Rev. 1) core
  • readme with install directions below

Method 1: Creating a separate directory containing patched files
    a. Extract the contents of the ".zip" archive to the desired patch directory location.
    b. Set the MYVIVADO environment variable to point to this patch directory (i.e., set MYVIVADO=C:\MYVIVADO\vivado-patch-AR57329-0904\vivado\)
    c. Run the Vivado tools from the original install location.

Method 2: Overwriting files in existing Xilinx install area
    a. Original files in the respective directories should be moved or renamed before copying the archived files to these locations.
    b. Extract the critical file(s) contents of the ".zip" archive to the Vivado 2013.2 directory that you are patching
    c. Run the Vivado tools from the original install location.

For further information on finding the Xilinx install and using environment variable, see (Xilinx Answer 11630).

For further information on using the MYVIVADO environment variable, see (Xilinx Answer 53821).

Note: You might be required to have a system administrator install the patch if you do not have write permissions to the Xilinx Install directory, or cannot use the MYVIVADO option.
