2013.3 Vivado IP Integrator - Processing System 7 (PS7) IP block no longer auto-populates the board settings based on the project board settings

In previous releases of the Vivado IP Integrator, if you select a Zynq development board, the board presets would be passed to the processing System 7 (PS7) IP. However, this is no longer the case in 2013.3.

In Vivado 2013.3, you will need to apply the preset manually, or run block automations to set the board specific configuration. This feature is available in both GUI and TCL commands.

TCL Command

Following is an example TCL command for the ZC702:

set_property -dict [list CONFIG.preset {ZC702}] [get_bd_cells processing_system7_0]

GUI Flow

To apply the preset using the board specific configuration, follow these instructions:

  1. Open the PS7 IP GUI (double-click on the block in IPI).
  2. Apply the specific board preset, by select Presets, and select your board from the drop-down menu:

To apply the preset using the IPI Block Automation, follow these instructions:

  1. Click on "Run Block Automation" in the IPI block design.
  2. Select the Apply Board Preset.
  3. Press OK.

Note: This will select the board preset based on the project device settings.
