2013.3 Vivado IP Integrator - Zynq dual-QSPI does not allow 32MB address range: "Proposed address 0xFC000000[ 32M ]> is not a subset of fixed address range 0xFC000000[ 16M ]>"

Description

The 32MB linear QSPI address range (GP0_QSPI_LINEAR/GP1_QSPI_LINEAR/ACP_QSPI_LINEAR) cannot be selected when using a dual-QSPI configuration in Zynq. The following error occurs:

Proposed address 0xFC000000[ 32M ]> is not a subset of fixed address range 0xFC000000[ 16M ]>

How do I use a 32MB address range in Vivado IP Integrator (IPI)?

Solution

To use the attached patch:

  1. Extract it to a directory.
  2. Add the directory as an IP Repository in Vivado.
  3. Delete and re-add the processing system instance, potentially by using a vivado console 'write_bd_tcl temp.tcl', delete all elements in the diagram, and then 'source temp.tcl'.
The 32MB address range should now be selectable.

This issue is likely to be fixed starting in Vivado Design Suite 2014.1.
