2013.4 Vivado IP Integrator - Vivado tool crashes if the NAND is enabled in the Configure IP GUI for the Processing System 7 IP in IPI

If the NAND is enabled in the Processor System 7, this causes the Vivado tool to crash with an error similar to the following:

Vivado Internal Exception:
A total of x internal exceptions have been detected. Vivado may be in an unstable state.

How can this issue be addressed?

This is a known issue.

To work around the problem, you can set all other configuration settings via the GUI except the enable NAND.

The NAND can be enabled via the Block Properties GUI. To do this, drop-down the CONFIG as shown below:

Peripheral Settings
Peripheral Settings

Then, scroll down to the PCW_NAND_PERIPHERAL_ENABLE and set this to 1 as shown below:

This can also be done via the TCL console, using the command similar to the following:

set_property -dict [list CONFIG.PCW_NAND_PERIPHERAL_ENABLE {1}] [get_bd_cells processing_system7_0]
