2014.3 Partial Reconfiguration - Turning HD.RECONFIGURABLE off and then back on causes SNAPPING_MODE to be turned OFF

Description

In a partial reconfiguration design, Snapping Mode is on when hd.reconfigurable is "ON" after setting HD.RECONFIGURABLE for the reconfigurable partition module.

The pblock  for the reconfigurable partition module PR_inst is pblock_pr.

%set_property HD.RECONFIGURABLE 1 [get_cells RP_inst]
%get_property SNAPPING_MODE [get_pblock pblock_pr]
ON

However, when I turn HD.RECONFIGURABLE off and then back on, I find that SNAPPING_MODE has turned "OFF".

%set_property HD.RECONFIGURABLE 0 [get_cells RP_inst]
%set_property HD.RECONFIGURABLE 1 [get_cells RP_inst]
%get_property SNAPPING_MODE [get_pblock pblock_pr]
OFF

Solution

This issue is fixed in the 2014.4 release of Vivado.

In 2014.3, you can set SNAPPING_MODE ON with the below command:

%set_property SNAPPING_MODE ON [get_pblock pblock_pr]
