2015.1 UltraScale Partial Reconfiguration - Reconfigurable partition pblock name is removed from partial/clear bit file name if bitstream name contains a dot (.)

Description

I intend to generate bitstream for a partial reconfiguration (PR) design with the following command:

%write_bitstream -force ./2015.1.bit

The expected bit files should be:

2015.1.bit
2015.1_pblock_U_test_dut_partial.bit
2015.1_pblock_U_test_dut_partial_clear.bit

But the actual bit files are:

2015.1.bit
2015_clear.bit
2015.bit

The dot(.) in the bitstream name causes the reconfigurable partition pblock to be removed from the partial/clear bit file name.

How can I resolve this issue?

Solution

This issue is fixed in Vivado 2015.3.

In Vivado versions prior to 2015.3, you will need to avoid using a period (.) in the bitstream name when generating the bitstream file for PR design.
