UltraScale/UltraScale+ Memory IP - [Xicom 50-38] xicom: Invalid memory type value detected from MIG core: 0

Description

Version Found: v6.1

Version Resolved: See (Xilinx Answer 58435)

When I attempt to open the Vivado Hardware Manager and connect to the MIG UltraScale HW_MIG XSDB module, I see the following error messages:

[Xicom 50-38] xicom: Invalid memory type value detected from MIG core: 0.
[Xicom 50-38] xicom: Data structures not initialized for CseXsdb slave Device:0, user chain number/bus:1, slave index:0.
[Labtools 27-1829] vcse_server failed during internal command 'CseXsdb_getRegistersAndParameters'. See previous error messages.

Why can the Hardware Manager not detect any MIG cores?

Solution

This is a known issue with the Vivado Hardware Manager that has been fixed in Vivado 2015.1.

Please upgrade to Vivado 2015.1 and MIG UltraScale v7.0 if the XSDB module is required.
