ERROR: You are missing these development libraries required by PetaLinux:

 - openssl

I have already checked and the openssl package is installed on my system.

How do I work around this?

The installer is incorrectly identifying the missing package.

Instead of failing to find openssl, it is failing to find the openssl-devel (or equivalent) package.

Install the relevant package identified below.

This is resolved in PetaLinux 2015.2.1.

  • CentOS - openssl-devel
yum install openssl-devel
  • Ubuntu - libssl-dev
sudo apt-get install libssl-dev
