*Obsolete* 3.1i Hardware Debugger - PROG toggled

Keywords: Hardware Debugger, Parallel, Cable, PROG, DLC5, losing configuration, program, download

Urgency: Standard

General Description:
When programming an FPGA in Hardware Debugger in 3.1i, 2.1i, or 1.5i through the parallel port, the program pin goes low after configuration, thus erasing the FPGA.

This problem can be fixed by setting the following environment variable:

Environment variables can be set in the "autoexec.bat" file for Windows95/98. The exact line above can be added to the file using the "sysedit" program.

In WindowsNT, right-click on the "My Computer" desktop icon, go to Properties, and select the Environment tab. The variable is "XIL_HWD_PCAB_FIX", Value is "1".

Reboot the PC.

Disconnect the parallel cable after configuration. This has worked when the program pin errors several minutes after configuration is completed.
