SDSoC - /bin/sh: sdscc: command not found error when building SDSoC project


While building an SDSoC project, I receive the error below in the console:

/bin/sh: sdscc: command not found

What is the cause of this?


The likely cause of this issue is a shell from another tool in your PATH. 

In Vivado 2015.4, when SDSoC launches it resets PATH to include a minimal set of Windows paths and SDSoC tool paths, which should help to avoid this problem.

To see if another shell is in your path, open an SDSoC Terminal and type the following command:

which sh

If the path returned is not in the SDSoC installation, then this is the problem.

The work-around for 2015.2/2015.2.1 if you cannot remove the tool from your path is to open an SDSoC Terminal, remove the tool from the PATH environment variable in that shell, and start the SDSoC GUI by typing:
