Why is my DVI monitor having problems locking when receiving output from the HDMI Transmitter Subsystem?
Some DVI monitors have problems syncing on the HDMI Tx Subsystem output.
There was a known issue with DVI Mode where the HDMI Transmitter Subsystem v1.0 incorrectly continues to send INFO packets along with the video. This causes some DVI monitors to not be able to sync.
This was resolved in the HDMI Tx Subsystem v2.0 in Vivado 2016.1 and later.
In addition the there was a missing API call to set DVI mode. This was fixed in the HDMI Transmitter driver in Vivado SDK 2016.1 and later.
The XV_HdmiTx_ClearMode was added to the driver and should be used to set the HDMI Transmitter into DVI mode.
This along with the fixes to the HDMI TX Subsystem in the 2016.1 release should address the issues with the DVI monitor.
